For Miss Natalie

This post is for Miss Natalie. Miss Natalie is sooooooooooo nice and so very thoughtful. I won a gift card from her blog and I am sure I never said Thank You. I decided to let her know what I used the gift card for. I found two dresses I liked and I couldn't decide between the two of them and so I bought them both!! I wanted to look young and thin in the picture, but that didn't happen. I wore my new dress today and I got several compliments on it, so Thank You Miss Natalie. I love you.

Hodge Podge

Can you tell how beautiful Miss Sarah's backyard is? Of course, Mr David built the fire pit and the tree house. It look so nice and peaceful. The woods in the back are where the fawns were running.
Mr Clark was enjoying his hot dog!!!
I had to take a picture of the sock in the dishwasher!! Brings back memories of Miss Emily putting the silverware in the fireplace and all the other things the kids used to do.
Miss Cora at Mr Clark's classroom on the last day of school. We went to the ice cream bash. Miss Cora was excited there was extra ice cream for her.

Another Birthday - Emily

She was so cute and so worth waiting for. In those days the doctors didn't care how over-due you were. The ultrasound (the only one I had) said she was due June 3rd. You realize what today is and how late she was. She was a very good baby. She had her thumb and her blanket and she was happy. I needed her to be good since Jill was 22 months, Amy was 3, Sarah was still 4, Seth was 8, and Shelley was 9. Shelley still remembers me being in labor.
She got cuter as the years went by. This was her second birthday and I decided she had a lot of hair. She never really lost her baby hair.
Emily was always a good student and a fast reader. She has read tons of books and still enjoys them today. Emily is a good friend to all. She never gossips and her word can be trusted. We are proud of her getting her college degree and who knows maybe she will go back to school and get even more education. She serves as the Relief Society President in her Singles Ward.
She is Auntie Em to her 17 nieces and nephews. They all think she is so fun and they all adore her. So today, I say Happy Birthday Emily, we are proud of you and feel so blessed to be your parents. At our house this means it is exactly 6 months until Christmas!!Posted by Picasa

Michigan

I spent 10 days in Michigan and I must say I am tired!!!!!!!! Miss Sarah and I watched her children and Miss Jill's children for a few days while the new doctor and his wife went to Princeton to look for a house. There were times when it was very, Very, Very, crazy, like baths, meals, and bedtime. Having seven children under the age of 8 can be a challenge but we made a good team.
Michigan was so green!!!!!!!! The weather (for me) was great. I loved the rain, storms, lightening, and loud thunder. I just remembered that there were no tornado warnings while I was there.
So, besides my daughters and the seven grandchildren, my favorite things were the animals. I just had to look out the windows and be entertained. (deer, woodchuck, chipmunks, squirrels, robins, and cardinals) My favorite time was when these two dogs were running around the woods behind Miss Sarah's house. After awhile I realized they were not dogs, but 2 fawns. Their mothers were trying to get them to settle down for the night. We could relate!!!!
We went to the public library (the best library ever), strawberry picking, a nature preserve, the AirZoo, a Children's Museum, and Amish country in Shipshewana, Indiana. We tried to keep everyone busy and entertained.
I am glad to be home with Mr Daniel, but I miss all the activities, reading, hugs, and sweeping the floor after meals!
Since I am still challenged, we will have to wait for pictures.

Yes, We have a Doctor in the House

It is very exciting to have Mr Colter finished with his doctorate in sociology from the University of Michigan. So, that makes him Dr Mitchell. We are very proud of you, Colter. We wish you and your family much success at Princeton.

Several New Posts

I have several new posts!!! Yea! What is even better, after 20 tries I was able to change my background and not have to call Miss Carla again. Enjoy reading!!

We have another Birthday!!

Miss Mikayla turns 14 today. Is it possible?? She was the first grandchild for us and her other grandparents. We were all excited. (We have been excited for all 17 grandchildren!)
Miss Mikayla has always been a cutie and she has grown into a beautiful young woman.
Miss Mikayla is a good student, plays the piano, reads like crazy, plays volleyball, been in plays and musicals, is a great daughter and sister, and a wonderful granddaughter. Hope you have a fun birthday. Love, Grandma Mac

Sunflowers

Can you tell my sunflowers are about 10 ft. tall? The flowers are not very big, but the stems look like a small tree.

A repairman was here and he wanted to know what in the world we were growing. (There were no flowers then)
I know I am weird, but I have hung things to scare the birds away and then I plant sunflowers to give the birds something to do!!

Fun at Grandma Mac's House

Some of the grandchildren were here for their Spring Break. Miss Kate used to live near us, so she knows the ends and outs of Grandma Mac's playroom. She loves the scarves, hats, and all that jewelry.
Evidently she has taught Miss Ellie where to find the jewelry too.
